I sell children's books for a living, and read almost nothing but. The first does not necessarily cause the second, as books for children and teens are better than anything in the world.
Impressive debut. I could definitely relate to having inner voice that says awful things to you. Loved the theatrical bits of the plot. There's a slightly unbelievable part toward the end but the book's good enough to forgive that. I may be wrong but I think this is the first YA novel where the main character has a gastric bypass. Timely and well-done.
