I sell children's books for a living, and read almost nothing but. The first does not necessarily cause the second, as books for children and teens are better than anything in the world.
Stuck
I don't always love Oliver Jeffers, but when I love him, I REALLY love him. This is a terrific, weird little book about cause and effect; Molly finds it laugh-out-loud absurd. I'm not nuts about Jeffers' handwriting all the text, because it's harder for a kid to try to read themselves, but the story and art themselves are awesome. I especially love when the curious whale comes along, and that the big boat is the same boat that the penguin in Lost and Found tries to sail away on.
